Grayson Allen, ESPN #29 Ranked Shooting Guard out of Providence school of Jacksonville (Jacksonville, Florida) in class of 2014 was Duke’s first commit in his class. At 6’4, 185 pound guard, Allen has always had the athleticism to excel in a backcourt. He is an all-around a very talented offensive player. He can break down defenses with his athletic ability to drive to the rim and his very underrated shooting potential. He’s a capable ball handler who can play multiple positions in the back court. Allen is a terrific outside shooter and can pull up for a jump shot off the dribble. He is very good in the transition game and rarely makes any poor decisions. Duke seems to be a very good fit for Coach K’s squad. He is a very smart and a talented athlete both on the court and in the classroom. With Jabari Parker, Rodney Hood and Rasheed Sulaimon will all be candidates for early-entry to the NBA draft next year, Grayson Allen will likely get a lot of playing time. Keep an eye on him and don’t be surprised to see him make some exciting plays on national television.
